LHIN defends its track record

The head of the Local Health Integration Network for the North East is on the defensive.  Louise Paquette is defending the LHIN’s track record after the Auditor General said it hit only four of 15 performance targets.

Paquette says the targets are improving adding wait times for hip replacement surgery are now 148 days which is better than the provincial average of 182 days.  Paquette also had to defend the LHIN against Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli who brought up its poor performance record at Queens Park.

She says many of the issues raised in the auditor’s report measure hospital performances more so than the LHIN’s track record.
