City high school students team up for food drive

Students from four North Bay high schools will be knocking on doors for their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive this week. 

Donations are being collected for the North Bay Food Bank. 

Several areas will be canvassed in the city. 

Between 5 pm and 8 pm on Tuesday, Oct. 4, students from St. Joseph-Scollard Hall and Chippewa Secondary School will be canvassing: Birchaven, Graniteville, St. John’s Village, Ski Club Road/Frost St area, Airport Hill, the downtown core, and the Memorial Drive/Queen St area.

Students from Ecole Secondaire Algonquin and West Ferris Secondary School will be collecting on Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 5 pm until 8 pm in the following areas: West Ferris, Pinewood, Thibeault Terrace, and the neighbourhoods between Algonquin Ave and O’Brien St.

Residents can also place their non-perishable food items in a bag or box in a visible location outside their door. 

If a home was missed, donations can also be brought to the North Bay Food Bank on Fisher Street.
