Youth charged after bush party incident

City police report a youth is facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats after a couple of interactions with another person last week. 

The North Bay Police Service says around 3:30 pm on Friday, Sept. 30 a person was threatened by another person in a Marshall Park Drive parking lot, with the victim leaving the area to diffuse the situation.  

Later that night, around 9 pm, police say both people were at a bush party in the area of Marshall Park Drive when the victim was struck by the accused with a blunt object, fell to the ground and was repeatedly punched and kicked. 

The accused fled and was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Police say the victim, who was taken to hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries, and the accused are known to each other. 

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
