The Labour Market Group (LMG) is reporting a “significant” month-over-month increase in job postings in Nipissing District in August.
698 jobs were posted online that month, up more than 27% compared to July’s figure of 547.
However, LMG says the August figure is in line with the number of job postings in the same month last year.
336 unique employers posted jobs in August, which is down 31 from the same month last year.
Top five employers posting jobs include:
– North Bay Regional Health Centre
– Near North District School Board
– Cascades Casino
– Canadore College
– Nipissing University
Top hiring industries include:
– Health Care & Social Assistance (20.8%)
– Retail Trade (19.1%)
– Accommodation & Food Services (13%)
– Manufacturing (7.9%)
– Educational Services (7.9%)
LMG also says for postings that listed an annual salary, the average was just below $60,000 a year.
The average hourly rate was just over $21 for postings that listed the information.
