Public’s help requested in identifying suspects

The North Bay Police Service is looking to identify two people who it says attempted to persuade a nine-year-old child to leave a park with them.

City police say the incident happened at Thompson Park near Fisher Street at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2.

The child told her parent who was in the area.

Police say the parent contacted them after confronting the suspects, who fled and were last seen travelling on foot towards Fisher Street.

The female suspect is described as:
Age: 40s or 50s
Hair: Brown
Clothing: Blue sweater, black puffy jacket
Potentially goes by the name “Patricia”

The male suspect is described as:
Age: 40s or 50s
Hair: Balding
Clothing: White tank top, carrying a brown shirt
Build: Heavyset
Height: Approximately 5’10”

Police say there is no description of the suspects’ vehicle at this time but officers have increased patrols in the area of Thompson Park.

Parents are being reminded by police to talk to their children about safety precautions when in public.
