Boost National gets provincial boost

The top curlers in the world are on the pebbled ice at Memorial Gardens. 

The Boost National Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling event started on Tuesday. 

Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing announced $18,500 to the North Bay Curling and Athletic Corporation to provide financial support for hosting the event in North Bay. 

“The 2022 Boost National Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling will contribute significantly the local economy,” says Fedeli. “It is our hope that North Bay continues to leave a lasting legacy as an amazing location to host large-scale curling events.”

Mark Brown and Rick Miller, Co-Chairs of the Boost National are thanking the province for their support.

“The appreciation shown by Minister Neil Lumsden and our local MPP Vic Fedeli, acknowledging the economic impact and financial benefit to the City of North Bay in hosting these types of world-class events, drives us to continue to pursue new and exiting opportunities,” they state in a release. 

The Boost National wraps up with the final on Sunday, Oct. 9.
