A suspicious structure fire is under investigation by the North Bay Fire and Life Safety Division and city police.
That’s according to Fire Chief Jason Whiteley, who says shortly before 3:30 this morning, fire crews responded to the fire at 1556 Fraser St.
He says fire crews were faced with heavy fire involvement throughout the whole structure, adding crews attacked the fire from the exterior before being able to perform two searches of the house to ensure nobody was inside. He adds no one was injured in the fire but a pet did perish.
He says the structure sustained heavy damage and the dollar loss is estimated at $250,000.
Whiteley says police will be providing the next update.
