The canine section of the North Bay and District Humane Society has re-opened following a bout of Parvo, a dog killing virus. The area was closed a couple of weeks ago when a stray dog was brought to the shelter. No one knew the animal had the virus at the time. It infected other dogs at the facility resulting in four of them being put down. Dogs can catch Parvo through dog feces. The society is urging people to pick up after their pets to avoid spreading the virus.
