Over 30 local volunteers honoured

The province is recognizing 34 residents in Nipissing with Volunteer Service Awards.

Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing says the annual award honours the exceptional contributions of individuals providing dedicated service to a single organization.

“Looking after our neighbours and community has never been more important, and we are grateful to see so many volunteers continue to selflessly step up and embody the best of the Ontario spirit,” says Fedeli.

“On behalf of Nipissing, we want to thank and express our deepest gratitude to these incredible Ontarians receiving this year’s Volunteer Service Award for helping to make our community strong and vibrant.”

Youth Volunteer Service Award recipients include Dominique Desormeau with the North Bay Regional Health Centre and Emerald Leece with the Carleton University Student Life Team.

Those honoured for 25 Years of Service or more include Angela Ringuette, Girl Guides of Canada (25 years), Brad Stenning, PHARA – Westwinds Heights (30 years), Claire Proulx, Girl Guides of Canada (30 years), Lori Butterfield, Girl Guides of Canada (35 years) and Gayle Denston, Girl Guides of Canada (45 years).
