Five groups benefit from police donations

Proceeds from the sale of property coming into the possession of city police are going to five local organizations.

At its monthly meeting, the North Bay Police Services Board presented $1,000 each to The Santa Fund, The Gathering Place, The North Bay Food Bank, The Crisis Centre North Bay and The Salvation Army.

“We are pleased to provide support for local community organizations that help build healthy, strong and inclusive communities,” said Board Chair Rich Stivrins. “These organizations align with the priorities of the Board and enhance community safety and well-being.”

The board says the proceeds from the sale of property coming into possession of police go into a special contingency fund used to support community organizations, events and initiatives that are considered in the public interest.

Over $8,000 has been donated in 2022.
