Fedeli reacts to charges over deleted e-mail scandal

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli isn’t surprised that charges have been laid in the massive deletion of government e-mails over the gas plant scandal.  Fedeli and a colleague asked the OPP to investigate the issue two years ago when they discovered numerous e-mails involving the gas plants had vanished.

The Liberal government isn’t saying anything, but Fedeli believes someone is covering up considering how the deletions were orchestrated.  He says $10,000 of taxpayer money was used to delete the files and the Tory finance critic adds someone had to approve that expenditure.

Fedeli hopes once those charged head to court, names are named.   Fedeli says although the OPP charges are not surprising, he adds it’s a sad day for Ontario.

He says Ontario was once the most powerful province in Confederation but now it’s constantly plagued by scandals within the Liberal government that appears to be immersed in a culture of corruption.
