22-year-old wanted for attempted and second degree murder arrested in North Bay

A 22-year-old who was wanted on an arrest warrant for attempted murder from a 2022 incident in the Peel Region has been arrested in North Bay.

On Jan. 3, Peel Regional Police Service (PRPS) contacted the North Bay Police Service (NBPS) seeking assistance in locating the man, who has no fixed address.

The accused was also wanted for second degree murder and attempted murder charges related to a shooting in Toronto in 2020.

NBPS, OPP and PRPS arrested the accused without incident at a residence on Lakeshore Drive on Jan. 4.

He was held for a bail hearing the next day and was remanded and transported back to Peel region.

Inspector Scott McFarlane of the NBPS states “This is yet another fine example of how the various policing agencies in Ontario work successfully together to ensure that our communities are safe. We truly appreciate the assistance of both the Peel Regional Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police, who we regularly work with closely, in removing this violent, dangerous and repeat offender from our streets. Crime has no borders and our police agencies need to work collaboratively to ensure the safety of all of our communities including North Bay”.
