North Bay hosting 2023 Global Tourism Film Festival

The Global Tourism Film Festival (GTFF) is coming to North Bay this spring.

GTFF is partnering with the City of North Bay and Tourism North Bay to host the event from Apr. 27-30.

“I am so pleased our community has been selected to host the 2023 Global Tourism Film Festival,” says North Bay Mayor Peter Chirico.  “On behalf of City Council and the community, we look forward to welcoming GTFF organizers and attendees to North Bay in April.”

On social media, Tourism North Bay says they’re thrilled the global event is being held here.

“It certainly validates North Bay’s position as a go to filming destination and the hard work that has been done in the industry locally,” says Tanya Bedard, Tourism North Bay Executive Director.

Officials say films with a central connection to tourism will be presented, including those showcasing fascinating world regions and cultures.

Screening categories include Feature Films, Documentaries, Short Films and Tourism Commercials.

“On behalf of the Global Tourism Film Festival, I am delighted the GTFF is held in Canada in partnership with the City of North Bay which has secured an eminent future serving the film and tourism sectors in exciting ways,” says Nisha Amin, GTFF Executive Director.

The festival will also feature workshops and seminars, sponsored by Canadore College.

The event will also include galas, cultural entertainment and independent cinema focusing on destinations and their unique attributes.

GTFF 2023 will spotlight Canada’s film production incentives with invaluable insight into production credits, incentives, and film financing, with workshops conducted by the National Film Board of Canada, Canada’s Telefilm and Ontario Creates.
