Canadore scores high marks in latest Key Performance Indicator survey

Businesses hiring Canadore College alumni are pleased with how well-prepared the graduates are for the demands of the workforce.

That’s according to results from the latest Key Performance Indicator survey – which shows Canadore placing above the Ontario College system average in three of four indicators, even scoring 100% in employer satisfaction.

George Burton, Candore President and CEO, says they collaborate with businesses to identify workforce requirements and train accordingly. “The fact that our employer satisfaction rate is 100% means we are on the right track, and building a stronger workforce in Ontario.”

Officials say Canadore also scored well overall, compared to other publicly-assisted colleges across Ontario, in the student graduation rate, graduate employment rate, and graduate satisfaction rate. Those results are as follows:

  • 89% of Canadore graduates were employed six months after graduation, compared to 83.4% province-wide;
  • 78.5% of Canadore graduates acknowledged that their college experience was useful to them in achieving their goals after graduation. The provincial average is 75.4%; and
  • 64.2% of Canadore students graduated, compared to 65.2% across Ontario.

“Canadore serves a diverse population of learners, including under-represented groups who sometimes face additional barriers to completing their post-secondary studies,” said Shawn Chorney, Vice President, Strategic Infrastructure, Indigenous and Learner Services. “The College continues to invest in additional supports and services to help improve student success.”

Officials say the results of the Key Performance Indicator survey allow colleges to gauge their success and determine ways to improve. The figures also provide parents and students with information to make informed academic and career choices.
