You may notice something missing from Lee Park for the next few weeks.
The City of North Bay says the “iconic” Gateway of the North sign has been removed from the arch for maintenance, including repainting.
Officials say it will be returned in the next three to four weeks once the work is complete.
According to the city’s website, the arch was first built in 1928 and spanned what is now Lakeshore Drive (formerly Highway 11B) marking the boundary between North Bay and West Ferris.
