New North Bay school needs a name

The Near North Board is inviting the community to help name North Bay’s newest elementary school.

The new school, under construction on the former W.J. Fricker school site on Norman Avenue, is slated to open this September.

A school naming committee has been formed and will bring a recommendation forward to the board with up to three names, based on feedback received from all stakeholders.

The new JK to Grade 6 school, which will also include the Grade 5/6 Extended French Program is the result of the consolidation of three schools, E.W. Norman, E.T.  Carmichael and W.J. Fricker.
