A lockdown at West Ferris Secondary School has been lifted.
That update at about 4:37 pm on Thursday afternoon from the North Bay Police Service, which earlier reported officers responded to an incident at the school.
Listeners reported several police vehicles in the area of the school, with one saying about a dozen officers with guns and tactical equipment went inside.
Just before 4 pm, police said the school was in lockdown and officers were on the scene.
“The situation is under control,” stated a release.
At about 4:08 pm, police reported that all students are safe and the lockdown was ongoing.
Police also said transportation would be provided to students once the lockdown was lifted.
