Study produces mixed results on health services

The findings are a mixed bag of good and bad news.  A report from the Ministry of Health shows Northeastern Ontario has very limited access to psychiatrists.  There are eight psychiatrists for every 100,000 people in the Northeast compared to 63 per 100,000 in the Toronto region.  But on the plus side, northerners have a shorter wait time when accessing local mental health treatment programs.  The average wait time is 42 days compared to 25 for residents of the northeast.
