City driver charged twice within minutes

The Ontario Provincial Police is reporting a city resident in their 30s is facing ten charges after being pulled over twice within minutes.

North Bay OPP says a Feb. 24 traffic stop on Highway 94 in Callander resulted in a motorist being charged for driving while using a handheld device.

After the accused drove away, police say a stunt was performed leading to a second traffic stop on Highway 654.

Some of the other charges include failing to surrender insurance, possessing more than one licence, littering, and not having mudguards or a muffler.

Along with a May court appearance, the driver was issued a 30-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
