Four area organizations are hosting a networking event to celebrate International Women’s Week.
The community event takes place on Thursday, March 9 from 7pm to 8:30 pm at the Nipissing University Student Union (NUSU) student centre.
It’s being hosted by the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce, Yes Employment, Labour Market Group and NUSU.
Admission is $10 with all proceeds going to the Canadian Federation of University Women North Bay Chapter, which provides scholarships and bursarises, and the Amelia Rising Sexual Violence Support Centre.
“We are excited to host an event that will aid local groups who support women in our community,” says Sarah McGowan, NUSU Director of Communications. “It has been difficult for people to get together and make connections over the past few years and we are hoping this event gives women the opportunity to build relationships”.
A silent auction is also being held to raise funds.
