Despite the big dumping of snow, trails are still not ready for sledders.
The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs says there is no safe riding yet in most parts of the north, including North Bay and West Nipissing. The OFSC says although it may look like there’s lots of snow on the ground, there’s still not a big enough base to protect riders and sleds from hidden obstacles.
Temperatures also haven’t been cold enough for ice conditions to be safe. To monitor the condition of local trails, visit www.ofsc.ca.
