Award-winning hometown competition for North Bay’s Team 1305

North Bay’s Team 1305 is celebrating a few wins after their hometown robotics competition on the weekend. 

Along with two team awards, Inuka Silva, a Team 1305 executive council member won a student award. 

Silva, a Chippewa Secondary School student, was named the District Championship Dean’s List Semi-Finalist and moves on to the Ontario Champs to the next level interview. 

28 teams of students, supporters and robots took part in the North Bay Regional FIRST Robotics competition at Nipissing University.

Team 1305 was a member of the winning alliance with teams from Gravenhurst and Huntsville.  

The alliance won the best-of-three final 2-0.

Team 1305 also won the Innovation in Control Award for a unique robot design. 

Their robot is named Vector, after the math and physics term, and includes V for the 23rd element Vanadium, representing the number of years the team has been in existence.
