Troops’ playoff quest starts Friday

The playoffs start Friday for the North Bay Battalion.

The Troops host Mississauga in game one of their best-of-seven series at 7 at Memorial Gardens.

After winning back-to-back Central Division titles and collecting a record 48 wins and 99 points in the regular season, John McLellan, Senior Manager Marketing and Business Development says the team is looking to make a long run in the playoffs.

“It’s been a great regular season and we want to keep it going in the playoffs and we can’t do it without the fan support,” he says.

McLellan adds they have something special for the fans at Friday’s game too

“We’re giving out playoff rally towels to the first 2,500 fans at the game,” he says. “You have to get there early in order to get a towel.  We’ve had four or five games there with over 3,000 fans.  This is limited to 2,500 so you want to make sure you get there early.”

This is the first time the Troops and Steelheads will meet in the playoffs since the Battalion relocated to North Bay.

During the regular season, North Bay won four out of the six games they played against Mississauga.

North Bay is home for game two Sunday afternoon at 2 pm.
