A local resident’s mission to raise awareness around mental health is also helping out a mental health recreational therapy program.
Derek Corbeil recently presented a cheque for over $1,200 to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation.
“All funds were raised through my Take the Pause Project and the Take the Pause hoodie sales,” he says. “I created the Take the Pause Project to continue raising awareness surrounding mental health illnesses, disorders and conditions. It was an opportunity for me to share my own personal mental health journey and remind others they are not alone.”
Among other messages, Corbeil says it’s important to step away from daily routines to ‘Take the Pause’ and reflect on your well-being.
