North Bay Police Association launch Aaron Northrup Memorial Bursary

Two students graduating from a North Bay high school are going to get some financial support from the North Bay Police Association.

The organization has launched the Aaron Northrup Memorial Bursary.

Officials say Staff Sergeant Aaron Northrup had over 20 years of Service with the North Bay Police Service and was very passionate about giving back to his community.

“He dedicated countless hours volunteering throughout the North Bay area and encouraged others to do the same. The key aspect of the bursary application is highlighting the applicant’s dedication to their community through volunteering,” reads a release.

The bursary will provide a one-time financial support payment of $500 each to two students graduating from a North Bay high school and entering their first year of a post-secondary program geared towards a career in policing.

Applications are being accepted until April 30th, 2023. The successful recipients will be advised by the end of May.

Applications are available through North Bay high schools.
