Public information sessions are being held this month for homeowners in North Bay interested in renting space to post-secondary students.
Nipissing University and Canadore College’s Off-Campus Living Team are hosting the sessions.
Officials say presentations will answer questions about renting to students, highlight the benefits and discuss protections for landlords.
“As the housing shortage across the province continues, we are encouraging members of the community to learn about the many benefits of renting space to students and the important role it plays in making students feel at home in our city,” says Kevin Wamsley, President and Vice-Chancellor, Nipissing University.
The Information sessions will take place on:
– Friday, April 21 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom
– Wednesday, April 26 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Harris Learning Library
“Students’ ability to succeed academically depends on safe and secure living,” says Canadore College President and CEO George Burton. “Living with local families provides post-secondary students with the support and community involvement they need.”
