New Ontario driving safety law

There’s a new safety law in place for Ontario drivers.

Drivers must stop and wait until a person has completely crossed the road at pedestrian crossovers. Communications Officer with the North Bay Police Service, Marie Lugli, says the law isn’t a concern in North Bay or Callander, because there are no pedestrian crossovers in either municipality.

She reminds drivers that the rule does apply at every crosswalk where a crossing guard is present.
