Students and staff at St. Joseph-Scollard Hall recently raised $3,000 to purchase protective gear for Ukrainian civilians.
The proceeds from the sale of ‘Peace for Ukraine’ t-shirts, a dress down day and collection at the secondary school are benefiting The Vest Project. Officials say on Friday, April 21, the Bears began their day with a prayer and the Ukrainian anthem.
An assembly later in the day opened with a song by Ukrainian student Oleksandra Zahrebelnyi and included a cheque presentation to The Vest Project.
Ukraine was invaded by Russia in Feb. 2022.
