Details on the Capitol Centre’s Next Generation Education Series for the 2023-24 season have been announced.
Officials say the series is intended to be more than just a traditional school field trip.
They say it’s all about inspiring youth through performances specifically curated for young audiences that complement the educational curriculum.
Three shows are being offered exclusively as part of the education series, with no ticketing costs, and will not be available to the public
Performances include:

Recommended for Grades 1 through 7
Curriculum Connections/Themes: Respecting the environment, problem-solving and friendship, courage, cooperation, and honour, masks, puppets, music and songs as a form of communication. - Ridge ft the Fugitives
Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, 1:00 pm
Curriculum Connections/Themes: Remembrance Day, History (events of World War I, linking past events to current events, soldiers’ perspectives, etc), musical storytelling. - The Merry Marching Band
Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, 10:00 am (English) & 1:00 pm (French)
Recommended for Kindergarten through Grade 3
Curriculum Connections/Themes: How to use air and breath to make sound, creating sounds, the brass band and its instruments, body percussion, and the concept of a journey.
