Marking Red Dress Day locally

A local event is marking Friday’s National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People.

May 5 is also known as Red Dress Day, with red dresses hung from windows and trees to represent the pain and loss felt by loved ones and survivors.

All ages are welcome at the local event, and people are encouraged to wear red.

A march from the North Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre to the waterfront takes place at 1 pm.
