A flood warning has been issued for the Sturgeon River watershed and has been extended to Monday for the Upper Ottawa River area, stretching from the City of Temiskaming Shores to the Mattawa area.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says water levels and streams have steadily increased over the past several days.
The Town of Mattawa, meantime, has suspended sandbagging operations as they have enough for now.
Officials are thanking all of the volunteers for their work.
They also reported on Wednesday that part of the roadway at Bangs Street and Timmins Street is closed because of localized flooding.
The rest of the North Bay District is under a flood watch.
Residents across the district are advised to keep a close watch on conditions and exercise caution around rivers, streams and low-lying areas.
