Mattawa Voyageur Days returns in late July

Blue Rodeo and Trooper will be headlining Mattawa Voyageur Days this summer.

The 24th annual event takes place July 28-30 at Mattawa’s Explorer’s Point.

Along with Blue Rodeo, the Friday night country lineup includes The Chicks Tribute Show and Elliott Brood.

Rock Where the Rivers Meet on Saturday includes local band Roadhouse, an AC/DC cover band and Trooper.

Sunday programming will showcase a drag tribute band to the Spice Girls and a tribute band to Clarence Clearwater Revival, followed by a closing fireworks display.

“It’s something that has become a tradition for people to come to Mattawa for this three-day festival,” says Chelsey Grant, Communications & Digital Strategies Coordinator with the town.

She says early bird tickets are $65 for the weekend and are on sale until July 1. The price then goes up to $75.

Tickets can be purchased online through Eventbrite and voyageurdays.ca, or in person at the Mattawa Information Centre, along with local Caisse Alliance and Scotia Bank branches.

Grant also says accommodations can be booked for those looking to stay the weekend.

“Mattawa Minor Hockey has a camping fundraiser behind the arena for the weekend and we have a lot of local resorts and hotels available as well for people to stay,” she says.
