If you’d like to take a closer look at the upcoming Main Street reconstruction project, here’s your chance.
The city is hosting an open house on Tuesday, May 9 from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm at city hall.
You’ll be able to see various construction drawings, the project schedule, traffic control information and ask questions of city staff and the contractor.
The project is slated to begin next Monday (May 15) and will take place over two years with Main Street being reconstructed between Sherbrooke and Cassells streets.
It also includes a section of Ferguson Street between Main and Oak streets.
“The project will include reconstruction of mainly above ground infrastructure including road base, curb and gutter, concrete crosswalks, exposed aggregate accent sidewalk, concrete sidewalk, traffic control system, streetlight upgrades, festoon lighting, asphalt paving and other ancillary works,” states a release.
The first phase of the project, from Sherbrooke to Ferguson streets, will be completed this fall.
