The city’s Airport Industrial Park is getting a new tenant.
Council has approved the sale of land on Aviation Lane to National Compressed Air.
The Alberta-based company says it is acquiring approximately two acres of land to construct their new manufacturing, sales and service facility to support Rubber Track customers in Ontario and eastern Canada.
“The North Bay location will also provide service, repairs and modifications of rubber track products including a broad range of attachments such as power line utility post hole diggers, cranes, tilt, and load configurations,” reads the statement.
Councillor Tanya Vrebosch says this is welcome news.
“I just think it’s a nice thing and I think it’s a good thing for us to say that we’re selling land,” says Vrebosch. “It’s great for growing our city. A new business is coming to town.”
There aren’t any details as yet on how many jobs the expansion may create or timelines on opening the facility.
