A 79-year-old from New Tecumseth, Ontario, is dead after drowning in Bonfield.
That’s according to North Bay OPP, who says last Friday, officers and paramedics responded to a call of a possible drowning on Boivin Lake, just before 1:00 pm.
A half-hour later, officials had recovered a body in the water. The OPP says life-saving techniques were attempted but the person was pronounced dead by medical professionals.
The investigation is ongoing, and a post-mortem examination of the deceased has been scheduled.
