Applications are now open for the province’s newly expanded Learn and Stay Grant.
The grant provides full, upfront funding for tuition, books and other costs for students who enrol in an eligible nursing or paramedic program and agree to stay in the region to work after graduation.
“The Ontario Learn and Stay Grant not only offers a sizable financial contribution for students, but also has the power to make a significant impact in our community,” says Vic Fedeli, Nipissing MPP. “After they graduate, the additional nurses and paramedics will make an immediate difference in local facilities, such as North Bay Regional Health Centre, or one of our local long-term care homes, helping to connect people to care, closer to home.”
For the 2023-24 school year, the grant will be open to eligible students entering their first year in the following area programs:
– Practical Nursing program at Canadore College
– Practical Nursing program at Collège Boréal, Sturgeon Falls
– Paramedic program at CTS Canadian Career College, North Bay
– Undergraduate programs for Bachelor or Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Canadore College and Nipissing University
