Officials with the fourth Backpacks of Love campaign say the community of North Bay has once again stepped up to support those in need.
The Compassionate Committee for the Homeless in North Bay put together 66 backpacks full of donated essential items.
Several frontline organizations, including The Gathering Place, AIDS Committee of North Bay and Area and Boots on the Ground receive the backpacks to hand out to those in need.
“Once again, we had a great outpouring of generosity and compassion from the community,” says Leah Pierce, chairperson for the Compassionate Committee for the Homeless in North Bay. “A heartfelt thank-you to the North Bay churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals who donated essential items and monies during the drop-off day.”
The committee was created in February 2021 and based on research created the Backpacks of Love campaign.
