Four-year collective agreements involving two CUPE locals at the Near North District School Board have been ratified.
One of the union locals represents office, clerical and technical staff while the other represents custodial and maintenance staff.
“CUPE Locals 1165-01 and 1165-02 are pleased to announce that both CUPE and NNDSB ratified new four-year collective agreements, allowing CUPE members to continue supporting student achievement and well-being in schools,” said Trevor Russell, President of CUPE Local 1165.
The local deals come after a central agreement was ratified by CUPE, the province and Ontario Public School Boards Association in December.
“These new four-year collective agreements will continue to strengthen the relationship with valued employee groups,” says NNDSB Chair Erika Lougheed. “Their contribution to a safe and positive learning environment that supports student achievement and well-being is greatly appreciated.”
The contracts are retroactive to Sept. 1, 2022, and run until Aug. 31, 2026.
