Humane Society’s annual Barkfest Microchip Clinic goes Saturday

If you’re looking to have your pet microchipped, the North Bay Humane Society is the place to be this weekend.

The society’s annual Barkfest Microchip Clinic and Community Yard Sale takes place from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday, June 10.

A cutest pet contest is also being held.

Officials say microchips are a form of permanent identification for cats and dogs that is accessible through a global database, making it easy for lost pets to be quickly reunited with their owners.

Information on the microchip includes the pet’s name, home address, owner’s name, phone number, and even medical records.

The cost is $30 for a microchip, or $45 with a City of North Bay license.

Registration can be done online at the Humane Society’s website
