A group of businesses in the south end of the city are showcasing all that’s available in West Ferris.
The Ferris Business Community includes over 70 businesses.
One of their first events, Ferris Fun Day, is coming up on July 15.
“It’s just an opportunity for businesses to highlight their locations and give back to the community a little bit,” says Jennifer Leblond, event chair and owner of Dinner Is Served on Lakeshore Drive. “We have lots of prizes and we’re working with the Big Brothers Big Sister organization so any funds raised that day are going to that organization.”
She says activities will be taking place at various locations around West Ferris and include bagpipes, a static car display, clowns, candy apples and more.
“There’s going to be events at each individual location,” Leblond says. “Businesses are going to take it upon themselves to have something to offer. There will be face painting, some people will have a dunk tank and there’s going to be $1 hot dog barbecues.”
