The fireworks are a go this weekend for Callander’s Funfest.
Officials with the annual event posted on social media that they’ve had a lot of calls asking about the June 24 fireworks considering the current Restricted Fire Zone.
“Based on confirmation from the Ministry, the Municipality has been provided the necessary go-ahead, based on meeting certain criteria (weather permitting),” reads the Facebook post. “These fireworks are put on by professionals under supervision from our Fire Department. Please note that we remain in a Restricted Fire Zone and that the discharge of personal fireworks remains prohibited.”
Plenty of FunFest events are taking place on Saturday, including a pancake breakfast, the parade, art, cookie and pie contests, vendors, entertainment and more.
