The community is being invited to North Bay Pride’s celebration of love, acceptance and equality this September.
The annual festival includes a flag raising, Ontario Drag Contest finals, Trans March, the Pride Parade and a free concert.
Bif Naked returns as headliner with Devon Cole and Carole Pope also performing.
All of the provincial and federal party leaders have also been invited to roundtable discussions on the rise of hate and how to move forward.
“By participating in these Pride events, we demonstrate our commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable society for everyone,” says Jason Maclennan, Communications Director. “We must stand together against hate and show our love for each other. It is also time for our provincial and federal leaders to sit down and talk about community with community instead of being afraid of what may be said in these discussions.”
Events take place Sept. 13-17.
“Pride is a time to celebrate inclusivity and equality, and to recognize everyone’s right to be who they are,” says Mayor Peter Chirico. “I’m looking forward to another successful Pride Week in North Bay in September.”
Gateway City Brewery has also brought back Real Love – Golden Lager.
50 cents from each can sold will go to North Bay Pride so they can continue to operate the festival and other programming throughout the year.
