Youth in our community will have a chance to play organized sports thanks to a donation from a local company.
North Bay’s Allstate Insurance donated $10,000 to the organization this morning.
The Agency Manager, Bryan Gauthier, says they were able to raise over $2,000 from doing 50/50 at a Battalion game last season, with Allstate then topping the donation up to ten thousand.
“Kids are near and dear to our hearts,” said Gauthier. “We all have children and it’s important for us to get out in the community and have kids be active and be in sport. For us, it’s a natural cause for us to get onto, and to donate this money”
KidSport Chair Dave Mendicino says he’s excited about the new partnership with Allstate, adding they will be doing more 50/50s next year. He they appreciate the donated funds, adding it will go a long way in assisting families who couldn’t normally put their kids in sports.
The organization covers 18 different sporting activities, working with dozens of different organizations across the city.
