Cookie Crawl offers ‘sweet new way to shop local’

A unique initiative is underway that looks to drive traffic to the downtown core and support small businesses.

Officials say the Cookie Crawl Experience is a “sweet new way to shop local” and win.

Five vendors bake cookies for the Cookie Crawl Experience, which runs Wednesday to Saturday during regular store hours until the end of the summer.

They include Opera Bakery Café, The Culture Club, Good Glaze Doughnuts, Cecil’s Brewhouse & Kitchen, and Northern Tikes.

People can visit four of the five vendors to get stamps on their cookie crawl card then when it’s filled leave it at one of the vendors to be entered into a draw to win 100 Downtown Dollars.

“Since launching, we have seen new faces in the store daily and have sold out every day,” says Michelle Trudeau, owner of Opera Bakery Café. “We couldn’t be happier with this sweet initiative.”

Tourism North Bay, Downtown North Bay & Waterfront and the City of North Bay have partnered up for the initiative, with support from FedNor.
