Communities in Bloom judging begins Tuesday

The Communities in Bloom judges begin their two-day tour of North Bay on Tuesday.

Clean Green Beautiful (CGB) North Bay says they have several stops over the next couple of days showcasing the city’s appearance, environmental actions, tree management, plant and floral displays, and more.

Some stops include the waterfront, community gardens, local businesses, and heritage homes in the city.

“Communities in Bloom is a friendly competition between cities our own size,” says Hariett Madigan, Chair of Clean Green Beautiful. “The judges will be evaluating us on a scale of 1 to 5 blooms. Our goal is to win 5 Blooms (82 to 100%) and move up to the national competition level.”

CGB is encouraging everyone to feel proud of their yard and landscape by mowing the lawn, weeding garden beds and sidewalks, and keeping the area litter-free.
