‘Something for everyone’ at North Bay’s ON THE EDGE Fringe festival

The wait is almost over for North Bay’s ON THE EDGE Fringe Festival.

Back to an in-person event this year, the festival runs Aug. 9-13 at the Capitol Centre and includes several shows.

“The Fringe Festival is a platform for indie theatre artists,” says Kelsey Ruhl, Artistic Director. “You can kind of expect something for everyone. There’s dramatic theatre. There’s comedic theatre. There’s dance. There’s spoken word. There’s drag and there’s even a live Dungeons and Dragons role play game.”

She says there are nine shows happening each day along with duality arts events, parties, awards and more.

“We’ve got dance workshops. We have Vox choir coming into the Capitol Centre and we’re going to sing ‘The Edge of Glory’ by Lady Gaga,” Ruhl says. “There’s stuff happening all throughout the week. It’s kind of ‘choose your own adventure’. It’s whatever you want to experience and see. It’s up to you and there’s a full menu.”

Along with music indoors in the Fringe-tini Lounge, there will be a pop-up patio in the municipal parking lot behind the Capitol Centre on Saturday, featuring local musicians.
