City police say a member of the public provided an assist with an investigation last week.
After appealing to the public for help in identifying a suspect in an assault with an edged weapon on Cassells Street, police say information was provided by a person and an arrest was made shortly after 3:30 pm on Friday.
A 31-year-old North Bay woman is facing assault and weapons-related charges.
She was held for a bail hearing at the North Bay Court House.
As previously reported the victim was taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
