Provincial funding for handful of local agencies

Five children’s and social services facilities in Nipissing are getting funding for upgrades and repairs.

Vic Fedeli, MPP for Nipissing announced $315,000 through the Partner Facility Renewal Program.

“Ontario’s children’s and social services organizations are at the heart of our communities and our government is proud to invest in Nipissing to ensure people can continue to access the high-quality programs and services our agencies provide,” said MPP Vic Fedeli. “By funding these repairs, we are helping staff focus on supporting people in need of services in a safe and accessible space.”

A couple of the recipients include the Canadian Mental Health Association North Bay and District and Community Living Mattawa.

“The funding will provide us the opportunity to upgrade two of our buildings in the areas of safety and increased space for the people we support and our employees. As well we will be spending these funds in Mattawa, supporting local businesses,” says David Spencer, Executive Director, Community Living Mattawa.

Across Ontario, 627 projects are receiving funding to renovate facilities that the province says will improve accessibility and better support programming.
