The 2023 Canadian Junior Boys golf championship continues at the North Bay Golf and Country Club.
The four-day tournament started on Monday with 156 of the country’s best junior golfers teeing off.
“Adam Svennson, who’s on the PGA Tour in the FedEx Cup playoffs, he’s won this event. Nick Taylor, the Canadian Open Champion, he won this in 2006,” says Jeff Mancini, Director of Golf and General Manager. “You may see some future greatness playing. All of these kids are fine, young gentlemen. A lot of them are heading down to the United States on Division 1 scholarships so the future of golf in Canada is very bright.”
The junior boys are competing for the Silver Cup, while the juvenile division champion will hoist the Jack Bailey Trophy.
With a combined score of 5-under, Team Ontario won the Junior Inter-Provincial Team title by three shots over British Columbia on Tuesday.
