$9 million is on the way to the North Bay Regional Health Centre to support bed capacity.
Nipissing MP Vic Fedeli made the announcement today, saying the money will support 45 new beds.
Funding breakdown is as follows:Â
- $4,599,000 in base funding to support 21 Alternate Level of Care (ALC) transitional beds.Â
- $4,380,000 in one-time funding to support 24 Alternate Health Facility (AHF) transitional beds.
The health centre’s Vice President Corporate and Chief Financial Officers, Ryan Jeffers, says it will give the centre more stability and the opportunity to plan for the future, adding it will assist staff as they continue to optimize patient flow.
